The Bridge was founded in 1974 in Gadsden, Alabama as a local \\\\\\\"DrugAlertCenter.\\\\\\\" The Bridge provides substance abuse treatment and behavioral rehabilitation programs for adolescents. The Bridge currently operates thirteen (13) programs* in Alabama providing: * Outpatient treatment for substance abuse; * Evening reporting center; * Residential treatment for substance abuse; and * Residential treatment for substance abuse with a co-occurring mental illness.
Fort Payne Recovery Center is unique from other Bridge programs in that it provides intensive outpatient services for adults (ages 18 and over) and outpatient services for adolescents (ages 12 to 18) who are experiencing substance abuse problems. The program provides treatment for males and females, adolescents and adults, suffering from chemical abuse or dependence. The treatment team ensures that treatment is comprehensive and thorough. Individualized treatment plans, combined with small group therapy, provide a supportive environment where people can practice new behaviors and learn new ways to relate to themselves and others. All of the staff are seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the treatment of substance abuse. The goal of the adult intensive outpatient program (IOP) is to fully support the person\'s ability to meet the day-to-day challenges of sobriety by effectively using recovery skills. Morning and evening programs are available and include 9-12 weeks of comprehensive professional support and treatment. Fort Payne Recovery Center is certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health - Substance Abuse Division.
