CED Fellowship House was established in 1968 to promote
the educational, cultural, social skills of persons,
primarily adult males, with physical, emotional, or mental
disorders induced by excessive alcohol use, which does not
render the person non-compos mentis and are not contagious, and who the Board of Directors feel the corporation can accommodate, to take their place in society, by providing them a home or other shelter, food, clothing, acceptance, understanding, and assisting them in a program of rehabilitation.
The C.E.D. Fellowship House, Inc. is a residential
rehabilitation program for substance abuse, and is
certified by the State of Alabama/Department of Mental
Health/Mental Retardation/Substance Abuse Services
Division for twenty (20) beds. (Adult Males Only)
The C.E.D./FSH program is operated by a qualified staff
as per the standards of the State of Alabama-DMH/MR/SASD.
The program is structured to provide the highest quality
residential services for adult males that have a history
of prolonged substance abuse, and/or their current living
arrangement are not conducive for a lifestyle free from
substance abuse.
The program subscribes to the concept that addiction is
a disease, and that prolonged and excessive use of
alcohol/drugs leads to jails, institutions and death.
The program is designed to provide residential
rehabilitation services for individuals suffering from
substance abuse in an atmosphere for complete
re-socialization in a homelike setting with support of
outside 12 Step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous,
Narcotics Anonymous, and other approved 12 Step based
self-help groups. We also utilize other community
programs and resources in our effort to assist the client
in his personal recovery and growth.
Whenever possible, families and significant others of
the client are encouraged to participate in some form of
the recovery process which includes family counseling.
